All students will be required to complete 40 hours of physical activity at one of these partner facilities. This will be noted in the registration form and on the HCPS and Online HPE website.
The University of Mary Washington will be hosting FOUR on-site admission events this MONTH in the RICHMOND AREA! Each event will take place Wednesday evenings from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at four different Starbucks locations. Students need to register for the event and complete their application, including having submitted their test scores and a transcript. Walk-ins are welcome, but students MUST bring test scores and transcripts in a sealed envelope from his or her high school counselor. The 2016-17 FAFSA is now online. You can access it at fafsa.gov. For best results, file early! You must first set up an FSA ID for the student and one parent. Junior Parents and Students: Here is some really important information regarding the upcoming changes to the SAT test. Beginning March 2016, students will be taking the new redesigned SAT test. This is important information for juniors as they should begin college admissions testing this spring. Below is a link and a document to help you and your student become familiar with the changes. Henrico High School has been selected as one of three high schools in Henrico County to participate in the Virginia College Application Week (VCAW) Program. VCAW is an annual statewide initiative designed to increase the number of students applying to and enrolling in college. Through school-based events, during the week of November 16th – 20th, the Class of 2016 will be encouraged to apply to at least one college. With the support of supplemental resources provided by the state, school sites coordinate hands-on support activities, during school hours, to help eligible students apply to college. Here is an idea of what our seniors at Henrico High School will be taking a part in during that week:
This fair is scheduled for Nov. 16th-21st. Students can log on any time during this week to get information from many colleges. There is a question and answer section for you to get answers directly from college reps. You must go to www.collegefairsonline.com to the students tab to register ASAP and you will be sent a reminder e-mail. This service is completely free. Students please register as soon as possible and choose the Southern fair when registering if you would like to participate.
The fall ASVAB test will be given on November 12, 2015, please mark your calendars. Please sign up in the NJROTC room with Commander Childers or in the School Counseling Office.
Come join us November 4th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the gymnasium at Varina High School for Henrico County's College & Career Night! There will be over 120 colleges, community college, vocational schools, military, and more! It will be an exciting evening to get to meet college representatives from all over!
